I am not going to lie, at first, I was very angry at my district’s decision to not allow in person school to resume this fall but with all these child cases of Co-vid 19 on the rise, quickly changed my mind. However, there needed to be more planning behind this decision to do virtual school. Last year when they decided to do virtual learning, I expected for it to be disorganized and thrown together because of the impromptu decision to close school. But I had higher expectations this time around since the district had since March to plan for this virtual learning endeavor.
I wrote this story inspired by what was going on in the world with the social injustice but keeping in mind that this is a problem that didn’t just appear. We have had problems for centuries with people not caring about the lives of others who are of a different class, race, and sometimes even within the same race.
Our ultimate goal is to be a role model for the next generation. We not only want to teach all about the human body but also about the endless possibilities in the field of medicine and show them that if we can do it, they can do it too.
